ADMISSION CRITERIA

Provisions of admittance

Holgate House is willing to admit you provided that:

  • You suffer primarily from substance abuse, dependency, or addiction problems
  • You are willing and able to achieve abstinence from all mood altering substances and all non-essential drugs.
  • You are willing to abide by our basic house rules, expectation, and responsibilities.
  • You have completed an assessment that complies with the Equality Act 2010
  • Confirmation of funding is in place

Holgate House is not able to admit service users who:

  • Are currently detained under section of the mental health act 1983
  • Are suffering from brain damage due to a head injury.
  • Are convicted arsonists.
  • Are not abstinent when tested on admission.
  • Are using opiate-based / potentially addictive medication to manage pain for other medical conditions. For example, Pregabalin, Gabapentin., Diazepam, Zopiclone.

Please note, we do not discriminate against clients who require medication for pain management, alternative pain management can be sourced under medical supervision from your GP and this can be discussed on a case-by-case basis on enquiry. Our primary purpose is to treat drug and alcohol addiction.
