ABOUT HOLGATE HOUSE

Holgate House was established in 1998, with 27 years of experience in supporting vulnerable adults with their recovery journey from drug and alcohol addiction. This is managed and delivered by the registered manager, senior leadership team, specialist staff and volunteers. Over 75% of staff have lived experience of recovery from addiction with a combined 89 years of sobriety and 60% have been through the Holgate House programme. Our people can connect and support clients well.
Holgate House is a 22-bed residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation service centre, located in the village of Barrowford, Lancashire. We have 7 single ensuite rooms, one of which is for a disabled client, 6 ensuite twin rooms and one three bed ensuite room, where clients have their own bed, wardrobe, desk and safe with an individual code. The ground floor is accessible for individuals with mobility needs.

Our facility has a homely feel, individuals are comfortable, secure, and treated with dignity and respect. We provide our service 24 hours a day, seven days a week and employ qualified, skilled, and compassionate staff, whose experience supports clients’ recovery journey. Our residential setting facilitates a high level of observation, supervision, and safety for anyone needing more intensive forms of care.

Our clients have a voice, and individuals are involved in any decisions made about their care, with dignity and respect, to ensure a transparent, collaborative, and personalised treatment experience. We provide a safe, non-judgemental, and highly compassionate environment with structure and discipline, to explore opportunities for personal growth and development.

PHILOSOPHY

The philosophy at Holgate House is a 12 step abstinence based programme using recovery dynamics, group sessions, 1 to 1 counselling with his her key worker every other week. We offer second stage treatment for men /women in the community recovery houses in Colne, Lancashire benefiting from good public transport and easy to access to shops, college and voluntary work.

We are able to accommodate service users who are taking prescribed medication for mental health reasons. This must be agreed prior to admission we take referrals from primary treatment centres and or a recognised prison programme .we are open to working with individuals who are currently on D.T.T.O.
